Account brief

## What to know

**Replace a generic top-risks list with an account review**

Cannabis risks do not stay in fixed rankings.

**Review the whole operation**

Ownership, named insureds, licenses, locations, construction, and occupancy

**End with decisions**

The broker should close the review with the decisions the insured needs to make, the evidence still missing, the current market questions, and the policy terms that require comparison.

## Replace a generic top-risks list with an account review

The useful question is which facts changed for this business and whether the applications, schedules, contracts, and requested coverage still describe the operation accurately.

## Review the whole operation

- Ownership, named insureds, licenses, locations, construction, and occupancy

- Products, ingredients, testing, labeling, manufacturing, contracts, and recall planning

- Property, equipment, inventory, business income, utilities, and dependent operations

- Cash, crime, cyber, privacy, delivery, vehicles, cargo, and third-party platforms

- Employees, payroll, management decisions, professional services, and employment practices

- Losses, near misses, corrective action, operational changes, and unresolved information

## End with decisions

A checklist supports that conversation but does not predict a quote or claim outcome.

## Use a change log to prevent conflicting answers

List each material change since the last application or renewal and connect it to the affected entity, location, product, schedule, contract, value, control, or policy. A dated log gives the insured and broker one place to reconcile the current account before information goes to a market.

For every open item, identify the question, the record needed, the person responsible, and the date it will be available. The goal is not to make the account look simple. It is to make the actual operation understandable and the remaining uncertainty visible.

- New or closed entities, licenses, locations, and activities

- Products, ingredients, labels, suppliers, contracts, and sales channels

- Equipment, inventory, payroll, revenue, vehicles, and property values

- Losses, near misses, corrective actions, and control changes
